πŸ’€ I MISS SLEEPING.

INSOMNIA IS A BITCH...MOST NIGHTS I STRUGGLE TO SLEEP AT ALL SOME NIGHTS IF I AM LUCKY I GET 3 OR 4 HOURS...BUT IT'S ALWAYS A STRUGGLE...I RARELY F EVEN HAVE TIME FOR TRYING TO NAP DURING THE DAY...SO I END UP A WALKING ZOMBIE MOST OF THE TIME...SEEMS LIKE ABOUT ONCE EVERY COUPLE WEEKS UNDER THE PERFECT CIRCUMSTANCES I CRASH FOR 10 TO 12 HOURS AND THEN IT'S BACK TO THE INSOMNIAC'S BALL.

GOT ANY STORIES OR TIPS ON THE SUBJECT?πŸ˜’

I do not know if you drink a lot of soda or coffee, but maybe this is a reason. Fourlemons has already mentioned it below, not to much media before going to sleep, and, if possible, about 19 C degree in your room.

In my case, reading a book (even if it is a very good one) is very often the road to the dreamland.

reply

A BOOK IS A SOLID SUGGESTION...I HAVE NOT READ BEFORE BED IN FOREVER...I HAVE A COZY MYSTERY ON RESERVE AT THE LIBRARY...I WILL GIVE THAT A TRY.

Could you have sleep apnea? You should research that and maybe see a specialist for advice buddy.

I have several work friends with it and it sounds like the hell you’re dealing with.

With the apnea you do drift off but your breathing or snoring for air might startle you awake.

Good luck BROπŸ‘

i'll just add to this. from my understanding most people have an underlying condition that is causing the "Secondary Insomnia". could be sleep apnea, or many other things. depression, anxiety, diet/substances, high blood pressure, etc

for my sister is was migraines causing insomnia. once she got the migraines under control the insomnia disappeared.

I consider Big K a great pal but I fear he is blockheaded like most of us men, me included.

We don’t ever go to a Doctor unless we get hit by a car!

See a specialist KOWALSKI and honestly, therapy and talking things out can smoothh stuff outπŸ‘

NO shame in asking for help, you are our PAL.

reply

agreed, the last 2 times i went to the doctors, i needed surgery. i knew i was bad.
probably a good idea to get a check up/blood test every once in a while though, if we werent so blockheaded.

shrinks? naa. F that. not to mention, in NJ it would jeopardize my firearm rights.
check out question 26. https://www.signnow.com/preview/1/312/1312460/large.png
i would imagine NY is similar?

probably end up getting more help from a zoom chat here than a shrink anyway.

SEPTEMBER 18TH...A FILTHY FUCKING DOCTOR IS GOING TO PUT HIS HANDS ALL OVER ME...I AM ALREADY PISSED ABOUT IT.

reply

You’ll be fine my dude.
I’ve ALWAYS avoided doctors because it’s like taking the car to the mechanic, they’re gonna find ten things wrong!

But you need to go in man.
Just do itπŸ‘

reply

A BLIND DOCTOR WOULD BE PERFECT...WOULD LOVE IF I DIDN;T HAVE TO HAVE THE STRANGE FUCKER IN THE SHITE COAT STARING AT ME.

reply

I been watching NCIS lately, that shit is boring enough to put me to sleep. Don't think I've finished a whole episode yet without falling asleep.

I’m sorry to hear this man. That’s an agonizing problem. I don’t sleep great; maybe 6 hours a night which is at least something. I’ve been looking into meditation but I don’t think I have the discipline.

reply

YES...I HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS ALWAYS TELLING ME ABOUT MEDITATION...I KNOW I DON;T HAVE THE DISCIPLINE.πŸ˜‚

reply

One of my exes struggles with it. What helps is having some sort of wind-down routine - shower, no late night eating, and some white noise can go a long way towards relaxation.

reply

I BET A SHOWER WOULD BE A NICE ADDITION TO BEDTIME....ENERGY FOR SHOWERING IS ANOTHER STORY...USUALLY I JUST STRIP DOWN AND LET THE CATS DO THE DIRTY WORK.
