I'm watching Police Academy 4 tonight.
The primary antagonists in these movies tends to be power hungry management types. But, when crime begins to happen, you see the whole gang cine together (though Mauser and Harris tend to be more ineffective).
I like that approach. Zed was the only primary villian in the first 4 movies.
That changes by the time they go to Miami.
I liked the first one. It's one of the iconic '80s movies and it's the only one I really remember. I remember seeing some of the sequels when they were new releases and thinking they were bad, and getting progressively worse with each installment. And then even the main star of the series, Steve Guttenberg, jumped ship at some point.

In the DVD'S, interviews, he really seemed excited to be back with the old cast. I think that was around the lavalanchula days.
