Favorite "street food"?

Street Food is basically food that can be commonly sold in a public place like a street or market by a traveling vendor.

I like the Italian Beef sandwich and Carne Asada Tacos the most.

I like a shawarma gyro, I don't think I've ever had one I didn't like. I just discovered the doner a few years ago.

There's a bomb taco truck in my neighborhood that makes the greatest adobadas with a thin slice of pineapple that keeps me coming back. Their chicken tacos are great too.

Tacos/burritos usually, if I happened to go outside, and if I happened to be hungry, and if I happened to come across a taco truck or stand.

However, I've always wondered what the burger from 'Demolition Man' tasted like. Stallone seemed to enjoy it, well, before knowing where the meat came from. I personally think the burger looked a little dry, no sauce; prolly not enough fat content too.

I'll admit I probably have a psychological block from eating that burger, but I guess in a good mood I can probably try it? I dunno.

I'm am now reminded of a little time spent in Japan while I was in the service during the 1980s. There was a soup soba truck (buckwheat noodles in a tasty broth, not sure what kind). In town there were a few places that sold yakitori (bbq chicken on a skewer), quite delicious.

Mmm...all sound good!

Knish is a fairly common NYC street cart food. It’s most often a deep fried mashed potato and eaten with a spicy mustard. Delicious and very filling.

reply

That sounds good!

Knish or hot soft pretzel…that is the eternal question in Central Park!
