Raygun, the universally maligned break dancing Olympic contestant

I have seen clips of her here and there, I will admit, her attempt at breaking was funny, but good gosh, was she that bad!?

reply

Raygun, not Rayburn.

reply

Saw her on Ozzy Man reviews on YouTube. It was so fucking hysterical.

Also, genuinely one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. 😆

reply

Some YouTube posters have stated the administrators have taken actual footage down. I will check out Ozzy Man. Some commentators stated she danced like a child throwing a tantrum, or someone having seizure, LOL!

reply

If you have cable or Peacock, you c can catch it on the qualifying round replay .

Paris Olympics isn't playing around. They're very quick and efficient at taking down all the videos from YouTube and other social media.

She was doing a lot of Australian-related movements in her second dance-off. Her first was ok.

reply

I thought she was a comedian trolling the Olympics.

But no, she's serious - yikes.

She will live on forever as a joke - wonder what kind of protected reality she grew up in.

reply

Right? I legit thought she like ''Did it for the memes'' but nah. It's like she has zero self awareness.

For real tho, Imagine doing THAT on a freaking world stage. Some of my friends said they couldn't even watch the whole thing cause they felt second hand embarrassment for her. haha

reply

There was some commentator defending her, saying she was "The best breakdancer in Australia." Your media at work.

reply

She was ridiculously terrible and yet I admire her total commitment to looking silly and getting a score of 0.0 at the Olympics. That’s gotta be some kind of record, no?

reply

LOL, is that a first!

reply

Has to be😆

I respect anyone who clearly has no idea what they’re doing and has no business trying it but just goes ALL IN anyway lol.

reply

Yah, she's right up there with Nadia Comăneci (first 10)

reply

The 0 score isn't surprising because of the way they scored. Basically, two breakers compete with each other about 2-3x during each dance-off in the qualifying round (2 or 3 dance-offs). If the competitor is strong, then all the judges will vote for the competitor while the other person receives 0 votes. 9 judges so a score could be 9 to 0. Raygun's competitors were just better especially her second who is a world champion.

I thought Afghanistan suxed too, but no one's going to pick on her especially when she revealed a cape saying "Free Afghanistan" and started crying.

reply

I think the Olympics should drop the breakdancing and half court basketball. Both just feel like really dumb events.

reply

I feel that way about the trampoline and rhythmic gymnastics.

I'm burned out watching the usual sports. I only watched a little of the breaking and surfing plus the women's boxing to see what all the commotion was about.

reply

Dude, if WE win a gold medal in half court basketball, it clearly is a very intelligent and sexy event.

reply

If you are wearing those thigh high red boots I like I’m going to agree with anything you say😍

reply

No boots in this weather, red 9 inch heels with a little ankle strap.👠👠

reply

All of the Olympic 'controversies" have been manufactured. Basically, much ado about nothing. Two women boxers boxing (yes, women), women volleyball players not showing their rear-ends by wearing shorts, a dancer with a hole in his stocking, and some gay guys dancing while a blue "naked" Dionysus is singing at a party/fashion show (no it wasn't The Last Supper & Dionysus was edited from many broadcasts anyway).

Ditto, the Aussie breakdancer. I watched the replay of the qualifying round. Her first break was fine, just not as strong as her competitor. Her second competitor was extremely good with head and hand spins. Everyone applauded including Raygun. She knew it would be impossible to beat her power moves so she went for the creativity. She didn't fail because everyone is talking about her instead of the winners.

reply

The controversy about the two boxers (who apparently though for whatever reason not definitively established were xy) was real and substantive. It should be addressed immediately. Genetic testing should be required for all competitors.

reply

They're both women.

XY chromosome propaganda is from the Russian government after she beat one of their boxers. The IBA also contradicted itself. It has zero credibility, no longer recognized as a governing body because of fraud, transparency, etc. and is linked to Russia.

It's just hateful women-bashing. The same slimy group who insists Michelle Obama is a man, too.

reply

You don't know what you're talking about. I find this sort of caterwauling tedious.

These individuals (IF they are xy, the absolutely critical datum which is unfathomably left out of our knowing) may present as female externally at birth, but develop as men at puberty, in all the ways that matter competitively. Hence the issue, hence the INEQUITY.

I'm a lefty, by the way, fully supportive of trans expression & rights. But I dont buy the bullshit you just spouted, and reject the bullying tone of it all.

reply

You don't know what you're talking about and making up things about someone you never met based solely on propaganda from a discredited organization and a dictatorship.

I'm very glad she's suing for online harassment. These two women boxers and other athletes shouldn't have to deal with bullying because they don't look feminine enough to certain viewers.

"... left out of our knowing) may present as female externally at birth, but develop as men at puberty"

I'll briefly add that I read the same article as you. It failed to mention that such a woman would always know if something is "off" for the simple reason that she wouldn't menstruate.

Many women athletes look 'masculine". Bullying them is very cruel. Neither should her father have to deal with it.

I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS POST IS ABOUT...AT ALL....AND I AM PROUD OF THAT.🙂

Breakdancing is now an Olympic sport.
One of the Australian competitors scored zero points in an embarrassing spectacle.
It looked like a soccer mom after a few solo red cups too many 🥤
Check out the vids posted above - they’re hilarious!

reply

I hardly know anything about break dancing besides The Rock Steady Crew, and even I thought she was terrible. I think I only need a week to pull off what she did.
