Question about Instagram Stories videos?

If someone uploads an instagram story video.
It deletes after 24 hours.

My question is ... does a copy of the video remain on the phone it was originally recorded?

I am asking - because a close relative committed physical self-harm and posted a video on ig stories... which is not available anymore due to the 24 hour limit (it happened 3 days ago).

Does my relative still have a copy on her phone where it was originally recorded... if it was recorded through the instagram app?

Yes. My wife does Instagram and reliably informs me that the original remains on the phone (Helpful Andy).
