Microsoft Down...
... because of latest update.
Disruption harms industries and infrastructure around world. That sounds like a major national security issue.

Cry harder Grandma. Surprised you haven't blamed Trump for the outage yet?? 🙄
share"... because of latest update."
It wasn't a Microsoft update that caused it, so it isn't Microsoft's fault. I'm using Windows right now, and my PC is fine, because I don't have the third-party software ("CrowdStrike") installed that got the update that might as well have been a virus. For that matter, I'd never even heard of CrowdStrike until a few minutes ago.
I wrote update. Same difference. Both companies were having issues. Crowdstrike provides "security" for the cloud services which Microsoft uses.
Microsoft repeatedly harrasses me to use their POS cloud to integrate my private information "across several platforms". No thank you!
"I wrote update. Same difference."
Without specifying what the update was for / where it came from, that means "Microsoft update" by default, since the context is Microsoft due to the "Microsoft down" part of your sentence. So no, it's not the "same difference."
"Both companies were having issues."
What issues was Microsoft having?
"Crowdstrike provides "security" for the cloud services which Microsoft uses."
So? Any software company that wants to do that is free to do so. They aren't affiliated with Microsoft. This is a quote from CrowdStrike's website:
CrowdStrike is not affiliated with, endorsed, or sponsored by Microsoft.

"I don't have the third-party software ("CrowdStrike") installed that got the update that might as well have been a virus. For that matter, I'd never even heard of CrowdStrike until a few minutes ago."
You don't appear too tech savvy based on your first sentence. Not a crime, but I have zip interest in educating anyone. Just Google.
"You don't appear too tech savvy based on your first sentence."
This is an utter non sequitur (i.e., it doesn't logically follow from anything I said), and also comically ironic coming from someone who thought this was Microsoft's fault. I'm a former network administrator and have Microsoft certifications (MCP and MCSE, which were a formality, and expired since I don't need them anymore).
"Not a crime, but I have zip interest in educating anyone."
Comical Irony Alert: Part II. You trying to "educate" me on this topic would be like a kindergartner trying to educate a professor.
"I don't have the third-party software ("CrowdStrike") installed"
This software isn't for consumers to install. It's a B2B company. That's how I know you're full of baloney.
I wrote issue due to update which is true. For you: rif.org
You're welcome.
"This software isn't for consumers to install."
I didn't say anything about consumers, Slow Doug. And the only way an update to software can cause a BSoD in Windows is if said software, or a component of it, is installed/running in Windows, obviously.
"It's a B2B company."
Utterly irrelevant. See above.
"That's how I know you're full of baloney."
LOL at you thinking you know stuff. You don't know stuff.
"I wrote issue due to update which is true."
Your sentence in your OP indicated that it was a Windows update that caused the problem, as I've already explained, and that is not true, obviously.
"For you: rif.org
You're welcome."
Your non sequitur is dismissed.
You have absolutely no qualifications to say anything about computing. STFU! 100% the fault of CrowdStrike.
shareI never blamed any company, you illiterate moron. I literally wrote that "Microsoft is down because of its latest update".
My job has no working computers and are all flashing a blue screen because of the latest Microsoft update installation which froze during mid-installation.
Microsoft utilizes CrowdStrike anti-virus software, you imbecile. CrowdStrike has damaged computers running Microsoft.
Get your mommy to read and explain.
For you:
rif.org
You're welcome.
registers are slow at wholefoods
shareFuck Whole Foods they don't accept cash, I'll get my $6 banana elsewhere...
shareThat should be illegal.
shareI think it IS illegal. "This note is legal tender for all debts public and private."
The same people who were doing "Occupy Wall Street" now gladly give Wall Street 3-4% of everything they spend so they can get a $5 Starbucks card every month.
I'm guilty of this as well. I have credit cards that give me points for 5% and higher and I use them, but everything else I pay cash.
Illegal only in a few states where legislation was passed. Federal website said businesses don't have to accept cash which is the reason a senator introduced a bill last year.
https://www.loomis.us/resources/insights/2023-update-payment-choice-act-reintroduced
That senator died in April.
Using cash is the easiest way to keep yourself on a budget. You pull $x dollars out of the ATM and put it in the cookie jar on Sunday and and when you get to Saturday and still have money you treat yourself.
shareDid you have any power outages in
your area? The weather has been pretty wild around here of late.
I’m in New York… mild flooding, a heat wave, trees down. A new mess every week.
It didn't affect me. I ignored the news since I was on staycation. I did sit in an ACd movie theater and watch New York City destroyed in the Quiet Place prequel. Funny how I remained oblivious to a real nationwide calamity while watching the fake one on a screen.
share"Something important to note here, is that personal devices like your home computer or mobile phone are unlikely to have been affected - this outage is impacting businesses."
Also, IT will need to restart in safe mode. 24,000 business customers are affected.
Crowdstrike was worth $80 billion until today!
Ignore Keeliai, she has NO IT experience. Nobody blames Microsoft for Crowdstrike's update.
We try to ignore her as often as possible without resorting to placing her on ignore
shareI never blamed anyone. Latest Microsoft update with Crowdstrike anti-virus software caused blue screens:
"Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike (CRWD) said an error in one of its software updates for Microsoft’s (MSFT) Windows knocked systems offline."
All the illiterate trolls like yourself should stay in Politics.
