πŸŽ₯ StoneKeeper's Movie Guessing Game: I recommend THIS Movie #2398 [VinceD delivers the punchline with SHAKES THE CLOWN]

I was having a think and decided that I might submit this selection for your consideration. As always, we'll try and conduct ourselves with the utmost decorum - no tolerance for bozos!

I have a movie in mind and you have to guess which one it is. For each movie you guess, I will give a hint that connects your guess with the movie I have in mind.

For each guess, a connection is posted. Examples of connections: Actor, length, genre, aspect ratio, language, country, year, director, actor, writer in common, rating, number of votes. It can even be something like: both movies involve Cabbage Patch Kids. Also, you can use Metascore color or rating, Rotten Tomatoes score, any award wins or nominations in common, same number of words in the title, plot keywords. Note: "Plot" in the IMDB advanced search links to "Plot Summary" on the film's page. "Keyword" in the advanced search links to "Plot Keyword" on the film's page.

Helpful search engine: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/ Click on Feature Film and TV Movie and Video. Then modify for the hints as they are posted.

- The winner can either start a new game or say "pass". In case of a pass, the OP gets to start another one.
- After 12 hints and 15 incorrect guesses the point goes to the OP and he/she gets to start another one.
- Movie must have at least 3500 IMDB votes. Otherwise, add a bonus hint. No documentaries.
- Maximum 2 guesses per player per hint.
- Can't edit a guess once posted. Delete ONLY
- Post one Hint at a time.

Let's get it on!

Hint 1: St. Elmo's Fire (1985) - Drama.
Hint 2: Clown (2014) - MPA Rated R.
Hint 3: Dumb Money (2023) - VFA runtime under 110 minutes.
Hint 4: Funny People (2009) - ADAM SANDLER is in it!
Hint 5: Inglourious Basterds (2009) - At least one Oscar winner in the cast.
Hint 6: Punch-Drunk Love (2002) - Director has writing credit.

The joke is on me with VinceD nabbing Shakes the Clown (1991), a brilliant showcase of comedy starring a smorgasbord of comedians including writer/director Bobcat Goldthwait, Julie Brown, Adam Sandler (in a genuinely solid supporting role), Robin Williams, and SpongeBob himself Tom Kenny in a villainous role that has to be seen to be believed!

This movie harbors a type of humor that elicits screams more than laughs - confusion before moments of understanding, and Williams' stellar turn as a condescending Mime instructor is a bit that turns into genius. In other words, there's a bunch of different types of comedy at work here in this ingenious hilarious farce!

Currently available to stream on Tubi, Amazon, Pluto, Roku, etc. Who knows - pretty soon it might just be a pick for the MovieChat Movie Club!
