Do you like Police officers
Do you like Police officers ?
I assaulted one once and spent 8 months in a psychiatric hospital.
In reality I only pushed him.

That likely would have gotten you killed in the US.
To answer your question: I’m somewhat ambivalent about cops. I suppose we need them, but I’d prefer not to have to interact with or be around them.
I was in my dressing gown at the time and they took me in jail with it. Spent 48hrs in the clink before they shipped me off to hospital.
shareCops complain that they have a bad reputation because of the bad actions of a few, but there's a culture of protecting each other, no matter how terrible the cop might be. Even the good ones go along with it. For that reason, I don't have a lot of sympathy for them over that.
shareThe ones I know are fine. Some are jerks. Others are just neighbors with a job.
I wouldn't reccommed pushing a cop. I also don't reccommed pushing anyone else else unless it's to push them out of danger's way.
I understand what they have to do to serve and protect often that means not always being likeable. I believe the major of people who get into law enforcement do so as they want to make a difference and do what's best for their community. A higher calling if you will. I've some bad experiences but the good outweigh the bad. I've had a few tickets that were issued by entrapment which is a very shitty practice. One of the best experiences I had with the police showed up when I got t-boned in a drunken hit and run accident. They found the guy who hit me and he spent a year and a half in jail.
shareMy father was one. He was actually a nice cop. But a crappy dad. I also work with a bunch of retired cops who are super nice. But let's face it, when they pull you over, or arrest you, they suck. You are never going to like a disciplinarian.
