Did you ever compare extra content from dvd/bluerays of the same films?

Like in 2008, when someone else you know had the same movie. Then you both got "shocked" to find out that the 3 deleted scenes on DVD A are not among the deleted scenes on DVD B.

Then you are both "shocked" again 10 years later when one of you finds behind-the-scenes material on YouTube and the uploader wrote "from the DVD" in the description despite this material not existing on DVD A or B.

Is there not enough space to add 7 deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes material on a disc?
If not, what are some of the reasons for not standardizing the extra content package?

The only thing even close that I can remember is when I bought the "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" Special Edition DVD and then a few days later they announced they were releasing some sort of ultimate edition.

I own two versions of ‘The Replacement Killers’ (1998) because the bonus content was different on each one.

Do you think they could squeeze all the content on one disc?

reply

Not really.

Can't say I'm a fan of deleted scenes - they jam up your memory when you're trying to remember a movie years later.
