as an outside it always interested me.
basically why in the NBA there are so few cities as teams? it makes no sense. usually in any sports leauge every city has her own team and there are multiple leauges and teams teams decend/acend leauges.
but in the NBA there are very few cities being represented as teams and there are no qualification from the second leauge.
MONEY...TEAMS NEED FANS AND MANY CITIES JUST CAN'T SUPPORT A TEAM...A MINOR LEAGUE SYSTEM HAS BEEN SPOKEN OF FOR YEARS BUT IS JUST RECENTLY BEING WORKED ON...A HANFDFUL OF TEAMS HAVE A MINOR LEAGUE AFFILIATE NOW...INCLUDING MY LAKERS...BUT THE WHOLE MINOR LEAGUE THING IS IN ITS INFANCY IN THE NBA.
shareAre you kidding? There's not enough talent to fill out the current 30 teams. Do you want a dozen more Wizards or Pistons? A lot of bb fans here disdain the pros but support their local college team, which is a more exciting brand of basketball anyway, imho.

I think what has been interesting about this basketball season is that the biggest draw has not been an NBA or male college player, but a female college player: Caitlin Clark of Iowa. I'm in "Big Ten country," so I've seen quite a few of her games over her career. Does she ever pack in the fans...she will most likely break the all-time NCAA women's scoring record Thursday night. She's a lot of fun to watch play.

because loyalty to a state is stronger then to a city
there's no logic when it comes to packing arenas state wide, SA and Dallas are right down the highway from one another & those fans travel up & down 35 to show their Loyalty
