"Horror /comedy" is the "pinaple / piza" of movies

HORROR/COMEDY IS BBQ RIBS...NOT FOR EVERYONE...OFTEN MESSY...BUT EVEN THE BAD ONES ARE FUN/WORTH EATING....AND THE GOOD ONES ARE FUCKING AMAZING.

reply

They are both awesome but crime/comedy has a better good movie to bad movie ratio.

reply

most horror comedies are terrible, there are some good crime/comedies.

reply

Nonsense, hownos. Santa's giving you coal this year.

reply

there's an old saying: if you can't make horror, then make horror comedy.

I FEEL LIKE THESE DIGS ON HORROR COMEDY ARE ALMOST DIRECTED AT ME...I LOVE IT!...BUT I ALSO DISAGREE...A LOT.

IF I WAS SANTA...I WOULD SNEAK INTO HIS ROOM AND GIVE HIM A DIRTY SANCHEZ!

reply

There are some fantastic horror comedies out there.

I would like to see a horror spoof movie where all the villains get killed by wimpy teenagers. They cut Jason's head off. Freddy gets eaten by a pack of dogs and so on.

reply

Like Monster Squad?

reply

Whoops, never saw that movie. Read the IMDB plot and I feel they could sex up a remake.

reply

I LIKE THIS...KIND OF LKE TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL AND MONSTER SQUAD WITH A DECIDEDLY HORROR VIBE...LIKE ALL THE ALL STAR MURDERS ESCAPE FROM THE ASYLUM AND DESCEND UPON...UM...THE LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL...BUT IT'S A CONTINUATION SCHOOL...AND THE STUDENTS ARE MEAN FUCKERS...AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT WE ARE FOLLOWING ANDACTIVELY ROOTING FOR THE MURDERERS TO SURVIVE AND/OR KILL THE SURPRISE AGGRESSORS.

Got scientifical with IMDb advanced search. Full disclosure: I am a horror fan, but fully admit it's a genre with an abundance of stinkers. And obviously my ratings are all IMO. No claims of objective "quality" here.

Horror/comedy: out of 275 titles rated, I've given 21 an 8/10+ rating, thus 7.6% "loved." But 184 titles got 7/10+, thus 66.9% "liked a lot."

Crime/comedy: out of 265 titles rated, I've given 46 an 8/10+ rating, thus 17.4% "loved." But 150 titles got 7/10+, thus 56.6% "liked a lot."

Analysis: I hold more films in the crime/comedy genre in higher regard, but enjoy the horror/comedy genre more broadly. Or something.
