We had, in my city, 'The Late Show', and 'The Late Late Show', with a logo of clock tower & them music - for decades. You could always catch a movie on channel 4.

I remember USA Up All Night. It debuted in 1989 which was the same year that we first got cable TV (I was 14). It soon became obvious that they were never going to show any movies with topless chicks, plus Gilbert Gottfried annoyed me, so I didn't watch it many times.

I remember Joe Bob Briggs' Drive-In Theater on TMC too (it debuted in 1987), but it had the same problem, except Briggs was likeable and entertaining, unlike Gottfried.

Was it TMC, i thought it was TNT or TBS.

Check out this book if you're into the 1990 vibe:

"Was it TMC"

Yes:

In 1986 Joe Bob was asked to be a guest host on Drive-in Theater, a late-night B-movie show on The Movie Channel (TMC), a sister network of Showtime.

Joe Bob went over so well that he was eventually signed to a long-term contract. Joe Bob’s Drive-in Theater became the network’s highest-rated show and ran for almost ten years, and was twice nominated for the industry’s Cable ACE Award.

No.

I have some transferred VHS recordings of Up All Night. Great precursor to the MovieChat Movie Club with popcorn classics like Hell Comes to Frogtown and The Pick-Up Artist.
