Who wears a smart watch? Is it actually beneficial?

Smart watches do a lot of things that my phone does, with the exception of a heart monitor. I'm young so I could care less about monitoring my healthy heart.

So what is the actual benefit of the thing?

Unlike my solar powered watch that never needs a battery, a smart watch is yet another thing that needs to be charged as I crawl into bed.

Unlike my wrist watch, it's technology and support will become obsolete within 5 years of purchase.

Companies like Tag Heuer sell theirs for several thousand dollars. A big investment for something that won't be worth anything by the end of the decade. At least with their normal watches you could get perhaps 1/4 of the retail price after 10 years.

Sorry to those who like them, but I think they are butt ugly.

You'll have to replace your solar battery after roughly 10 years.

Mine has been helpful with my sleep. Sleep has always been a problem for me and tracking it has worked to my benefit. I also like the activity tracking when I work out. It makes working out easier and more fun.
I didn't pay an exorbitant amount for mine either and charging every 10 days isn't a deal breaker for me.

If you don't care about the things it offers then don't get one.

LAST WATCH I OWNED WAS A POCKET WATCH..IN HIGH SCHOOL...I SEE NO NEED FOR ANY NEW WATCH GOING FORWARD...IF I DO NEED ONE...I WILL GET ANOTHER POCKET WATCH...END OF STORY.

It's useful if you want it to be. I have a gear sport I use for tracking time, sleep, and workouts. It was $300 initially. You can getvthem for about $180 now. It's good for keeping up for my Army PT. It's especially nice on long runs. Every mile, it vibrates a little so I can know my distance. I also have a running playlist on it so I don't have to bring my phone. So, yep, zip like it.

I can check texts and phone calls without having to get my phone out. That's my favorite thing about it.
