Opioid induced hallucinations

My husband had a bad fall last week and spent a few days in the hospital. He came home on Wednesday and has been taking 1/2 of a 5mg oxycodone tablet 2x a day. Last night he started having visual hallucinations, so no more oxy for him.

He experienced the same thing with morphine when he had his open heart surgery - I guess he can't handle opioids.

Last time this happened with morphine he was in the hospital so I was just wondering how long to expect this to clear his system.

I'm getting ready to call his doctor - no need to tell me to do that.

Can you describe the hallucinations?

Were they Kowalski level hallucinations or something else?

Did your husband imagine he has 15 cats or that the world ended in 2012 and we're in an alternate backup reality?

Oh LOL!

Last night a little girl and her grandmother visited him and then later some kids lost a boat and wanted him to help find it. This morning things were on the wall.

Not a bad trip - he's relaxed - he just can't understand why I don't see the people/things also.

I did call his doctor and they are going to let me know what to do. The weekend is a long time to not have any pain meds if he has to stop taking the oxy.

You need to create a TikTok channel and post those experiences before the drugs wear off.

Pharmaceutical drugs are all over the place. Once I had to take Tylenol 3 (which is prescription) for about a week and it helped me and I felt fine, but I know two people who also took it who said they felt incredibly high.

SOUNDS AWESOME.

SHOULD BE IN THE CLEAR WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE LAST DOSE.👍🏾

Maybe his doctor will tell me it's ok for him to be in la la land until Monday.

Send em to me.

Signed, million man.
