Could you consider living in a different climate zone?
share
No. I would hate living in the South or desert Southwest. I don't know how people can stand all of that heat.
shareNever. I am fortunate to live in an area that has four distinct seasons, and has snow at Christmastime, although recently this is becoming endangered due to global warming. The warmer climate from the southern latitudes seems to be slowly creeping northward. If this continues I will seriously consider moving.
shareWhat is the coldest temperature you get, as of now?
shareAverage low for December is -10°C/15°F. There have been recent years where we get still snow in early December but then there is a warm-up to above freezing the week before Christmas. Enough to melt the snow and ruin the holiday atmosphere.
shareOnly somewhere cooler. Can't stand heat, even mild summers
shareYes, I live in a semi-arid climate zone, and am already considering retiring to the desert or the wet forests of the PNW.
But not any place with serious snow. I'm too old to take up driving on snow and ice.
Yes, I love the American Southeast.
There is little to no snow, plenty of sun and warmth, amazing natural beauty, very friendly people, lots of historical sites, reasonable gun laws and lower taxes.
A LOT of New Yorkers retire to the South and take their pensions and savings with them which should tell New York something.
