Where are the comedians who do stand up comedy on Netflix performing? Are these venues specifically for that? Or are they just your average run of the mill theatres?

Just going off of memory:
Bill Burr's Paper Tiger special was recorded at Royal Albert Hall in London, UK
One of Tom Segura's specials was recorded in Seattle.
I'd wager most modern-day venues have the capability for sound and recording systems.
The big comedians record their specials at big theaters. But the smaller ones typically record at local comedy clubs.

Some comedians prefer theaters for that reason.
