Yup, it's a meat pie floating in a hot bowl of pea soup, usually drizzled with ketchup for flavor and color contrast. When I first heard of them I had to look them up to confirm they actually existed, I thought the person who described them was joking.
This is awesome lol thanks for sharing!
shareIt actually sounds like it'd taste fairly good, like if you were having dinner at home on a cold winter's day and didn't want to wash both a plate and a bowl.
But I'm told that they serve the damn things in restaurants, and people eat them in broiling hot Australian summers! Maybe it seems like a good idea, after 8 or 9 schooners.
Well, no shame to anyone who likes it, you like what you like but Eww. lol Adding the ketchup is just . . . so bad! I'd love to see a French person describe this meal.
shareYoutube is full of "French People Try American Food" videos, maybe there's a "French People Try Australian Food" one as well?
I haven't bothered to look, obviously.
The pea soup in the photo looks like radioactive goo. It doesn't look very appetizing.
