IMDB Votes Breakdown Information Gone?

Next to the score, there's a parenthesis with the amount of people who rated the movie. Up until today (when I noticed), you were able to click the hyperlink and it would have a great breakdown by age, gender, etc., and now it's down to five countries' ratings only.

Did this happen recently, or am I the only one who cares/notices?

reply

Happened a few months back buddy.

I prefered it the old way, I do like the more elaborate country breakdowns though (it used to be USA vs Non-USA). I wish it was way more detailed than it is.

I guess this must have happened when IMDb brought in their new page version of the movies earlier this year. I didn't use the old breakdown of gender/age/etc demographic that much. But I have noticed those breakdowns used on You Tube videos when some did their film reviews on there.

I also noticed when I use the browser I'm signed in with, I can't see things like IMDB lists related to the movie I'm looking at, so have to open another browser.

reply

IMDb lists are now at the bottom of the new pages whereas they used to be on the far right of the old pages midway down. At least on the system that I use.

reply

I notice the lower ones were user-made, and think the other was IMDB made, or in different looking lists, I can't describe them, but on my browser I'm signed in, I see nothing on a PC (windows 10/11)

reply

On mine, the IMDb editorial lists are just above the user lists. I have to scroll all the way down to the bottom before I get to them. I'm on Windows 10 only.

A helpful tip is adding /reference to the base URL of any IMDB link to access a pretty good semblance of the old site design. For example:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103900/reference

reply

Oddly enough, that removes all the good stuff (IMDB lists) even on my browser I'm not signed in.

I don't mind change, but it seems like every kind has been negative lately. And not just IMDB.

reply

Websites optimizing their design for mobile is heartbreaking to see.

reply

Every change they make seems to further degrade the usefulness of the site.

It's a bizarre strategy.
