Do Jack Russel Terriers make good dogs?
Or are they too "yappy" and energetic?

They are very energetic little dogs and can be stubborn bastards when it comes to training and ‘guarding’ their toys and favorite spot on the floor. My uncle had a couple and they were small, fierce and remarkably loyal little troopers.
They are great little dogs if you have a yard or the time to walk them a few times a day. They’d jump into the fight if you had a break in.
Almost same temperament as Siberian Huskies then.

Yes, like a Husky only smaller.
Also, they like to dig and root around a lot, a Jack can mess up your lawn.
My small Aussie shepherd has dug up a few holes in my grass but I can’t stay mad at her lol.
huskies are very stubborn and don't make good pets.
shareThey're fun.
shareDepends on their environment. I know a great couple of JRs, who live on a farm and who get to hunt moles and rats, which is what their DNA is calling out for. In the right environment, they're wonderful dogs, cheerful, good-natured, energetic, affectionate, playful... and obedient most of the time.
They make shitty apartment dogs, though, unless your apartment has a serious rat problem. They're too energetic to live in a small space, they're bred to hunt.
They are busy little guys. They run off easily so be sure you get your JR chipped, and you have a secure enclosed yard for exercise.
