Actors who can sing versus singers who can act

In Daisy Ridley's case she trained as a singer and a dancer before she trained as ( and turned to ) acting.

Try looking for examples of Daisy singing on Youtube and you won't get many hits. And this is in spite of being endorsed as a girl who can sing by Barbra Streisand.

Then there is Gwyneth Paltrow, an actor who can definitely sing. Here she is singing 'Coming Home' from the film 'Country Strong'

I’d say singers who can act, personally I feel a bitt of cringe for my favorite actors to release an album but not when a singer who I love does a movie.

For example as bad as actors as they turned out to be. I had an easier time watching Madonna and Bon Jovi in a movie than listening one of my favorite actors Hugh Laurie to sing.

With Bon Jovi yeah he might not be the best at acting but he works fine as eye candy.

Actors who use their fame to cut albums are rarely worth it. Remember when Eddie Murphy tried to begin a singing career? I prefer a band which starts at the bottom and works their way up. That proves they have talent. When an actor starts singing all a sudden he's only there because he has connections.

Singers who can act...lot more openings.

Jamie Fox can sing.

Frank Sinatra could act.

One thing that was always painful, is still - when they get actresses to sing torch-songs in B-movies, where they are supposed to talented and attractive, but are neither.
