Is Colorado a good place to live?
Never been. But it is probably the State I would most move to.

shareMy family is from Colorado. It's a great state, with both mountains and the plains. The people are educated and generally have money. No ghetto. Denver might have one but if they do it's small. The winters are harsh though.
Remember it's the Columbine state and that entails something about the angst there.
Columbine was just a one-off though.
Colorado seems way better than California though. Less "craziness".
I mention Columbine because I'd say Colorado represents the pulse of middle American culture better than any other state.
No ghetto. No hillbillies. Middle Amerika.
Columbine was culturally important: sort of Matrix meets middle America.
Lots of hillbillies in Colorado's rural areas. Plenty of free spirits and freaks, too. Colorado seems to attract them. I consider all of these attributes positive.
shareSure, there's the farmers. Both my grandfathers own farms in Colorado. But you don't have the type of rural hicks in the Rocky's which they have in the Appalachians and the Ozarks.
Colorado also has a bit of the cowboy spirit. But that's very different than a Southern redneck.
denver looks great on tv when i am watching the broncos
shareGuys I met in LA from there seem like party animals. I believe house parties are a big part of their culture.
shareI heard the people there are crazy...but they seem friendly at first glance.
I've visited the state several times on my frequent trips to Las Vegas and the West Coast, and the Rocky Mountains and nature areas seem nice though.
And speaking of my trips, a friendly older lady working at a gas station in Brush, Colorado (near Fort Morgan) gave us all the unsold hot dogs one night (they were still good and hot...she didn't want to waste perfectly good hot dogs they had to throw away at day's end.)
shareThe mountainous parts of the state and adjacent regions are staggeringly beautiful, everyone who appreciates nature or scenery or charming little towns should visit! Mountains, aspen or pine forests, skiing or hiking, the Garden of the Gods, the plains and red rock desert and Dinosaur bones, it's all amazing!

I can't tell you what the people are like, with all that nature around I never paid much attention to them.
