Sad state of the music industry.

reply

She's from western Australia and I have her one of my fridge magnets

reply

Well, she is better than The Beatles.

reply

What a load of crap her stuff is.

reply

In the Billboard top 100: -
Taylor Swift 20 slots
Lil Baby 11 slots

So 2 artists account for nearly a third of the chart!

Oh dear.

reply

What bothers me more is how shit the artists are on the top 100.

reply

OK Boomer!

reply

Am I wrong though? How many people there would you say are legendary or will be considered legendary at some point?

reply

There's a fair few in the Top 100 that will be remembered (one or two may yet reach legendary status). The only ones in there that I would consider legendary would be the pairing of Elton John (hits over 6 decades) and Britney Spears (you may not like her music, but she's iconic).

I was going to post something like this but I’m middle aged so I didn’t want to be that guy, I knew you would post it though!

Amazing how few bands there are in the top 100.

reply

The Album charts are interesting though.

reply

Are they as tired as the UK albums chart with the same greatest hits albums by Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Beatles etc ever present in the top 20?

reply

A bit lower down the charts: -
#199. Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975

reply

I own so much of the UK Top 100, problem is I bought those records decades ago!

I normally log in every Friday afternoon and buy any new releases I like from Amazon.

reply

I normally visit once a year and moan about all the old Christmas songs dominating the top 40 chart. My money is on Mariah Carey to reach #1 again this Xmas, I’d prefer Fairytale of New York to hit the top spot just once.

reply

It's been Ladbaby for the last 4 years running!

reply

Those are so funny…not.

reply

What happened to actual rock bands being on the Billboard charts? And I don't count Maroon 5 as rock.

reply

New rock bands don’t get the airplay or promotion anymore I guess. What happened to new movements like punk, new wave, grunge etc?

It’s all been samey for so long now.

reply

People just don't like hearing actual instruments anymore and the idea of a band writing their own songs blows their mind.

reply

haha.

reply

Sad

reply

billboard is irrelevant today.

reply

I know nothing of her music but that is very impressive, good for her.
