I had to google what this was and I’d bet most non-Hindus would have to as well.

It's quite a big celebration in Britain. I suppose we have alot more Indian heritage families than the US though. Same way as Mexican food is relatively rare here but huge in the US, whereas here curry is huge here.

Diwali is pretty big here. Lots of lights up in my area, and my favourite restaurant was having a celebration dinner tonight. We have a huge Indian population in my area. A lot of Hindus and Sikhs. There is a massive Vaisakhi Day parade every May here that brings tens of thousands of people to my neighbourhood.
