Why don't we take one day from December and one from January and give them to February?
Why does February have to be only 28 days? Those 2 months have an extra day, just even things out a little.

shareThere are no real reasons. It's just unfortunate.
Also, first month of the year should be March instead of January therefore the extra day in a leap year would fall neatly at the end of the year instead of being randomly inserted somewhere along the year.
At one time March was considered the start of the new year. That's how September got its name: it was originally the seventh month. Septem was the Latin word for "seven."
shareThat makes more sense! Whoever tf put January and February in front of March should be fired from the ministry of calendar!
shareBecause February is oppressed
shareHolidays, birthdays and anniversaries would be messed up worldwide.
And every fourth year it would still be necessary to add a leap year to February.
What have the Romans ever done for us?
Bequeathed us a 28 day February apparently.
The Roman calendar would make your head spin. See if you can decipher this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roman_calendar#Republican_calendar
It was a lunar-based calendar, which required the addition of a 27-day "intercalary month" every two years to remain in synch with the solar cycle.
Why is it if you use the first letter of every month in order (JFMAMJJASOND), you can find the name "Jason" in there? What do they have against "Mike" or "Larry" or "Jane"?
