Check out my fan art!

In my free time I often draw. I’ve done it for a long as I can remember and I’m pretty passionate about it. A lot of what I draw is fan art related to movies and TV shows, with the occasional actor/actress portrait. I recently uploaded some of my best work on Flickr. Check it out and let me know what you think!

If you're unsure of who the person or character is, you can click on the photo and read the description. :)

Nice work👍
I knew who all of them were but one, Dwight Frye who I’m unfamiliar with…you’ve got a skill for portraiture and that’s not easy

reply

Thank you! :) Dwight is mainly known among classic horror movie fans... like myself, haha. His most famous role was that of Renfield in the 1931 version of Dracula with Bela Lugosi, which led to his being typecast into playing mentally unstable people. Because of that, he was never really able to branch out. He was very ahead of his time, though. One actress he worked with on stage even called him "the original method actor." I'd recommend checking out his work. His movies may not be your cup of tea, but he always gave his all to his performances.

Aha! Thanks

The only one I didn't know who it was was the last one. But I've never heard of him. Other than that, great stuff.

Not a lot of people know who Dwight Frye is. The only reason I do is because I'm such a big fan of classic black-and-white movies, especially horror movies. He was never famous during his lifetime, and even now, although he's gained popularity, his fans tend to be classic horror junkies. Thank you!

reply

I know him because of the Alice Cooper song.

Those are fantastic!

Thank you!

Very nice. What medium do you work with?

reply

Thank you! I mostly use graphite pencils, but I'm gradually getting into charcoal. :)

What brand or type of scanner do you use?

reply

I've actually started taking pictures of my art since scanners tend to make drawings grainy. I used to use a Canon Advance C356iF but I would have to adjust the image to make it look more like it did in real life.

Thanks.

Nicely done. I think Dracula and Mina might be my favorite of those.

That's one of my favorites too. It was a bit daunting but I was proud of what I accomplished. Thank you!

Those are really good, Dracula & Mina is my fave. 🦇

Thank you! I'm a huge Dracula fan, as I'm sure you can tell. 😊
