Whether it is or not, it'd be easier to make a good script out of the story if the rival groups were smaller. Movies have limited time to tell a story and work best when they're about one main character, or two rivals, or 4-5 main characters tops. Even if there are a lot of characters, you've got to make the main story about a few people, not two large teams and their support personnel.
Eh kinda? I got the idea by watching a reality tv show? Yeah tow groups of 14 people is a lot, maybe it could be a game I guess?
