On my main laptop and on my iphone I have access to my gmail account, but I do not recall the last password I updated it to (a couple of years ago).
I do not have my phone number setup as recovery.
How can I update my password and not get locked out?

No password + no phone number = your SOL. Just sign up for a new email.
shareIf it requires you to enter your password to set up a phone, you likely will not gain full access to your account. I ran into similar issues years ago and luckily found the password. Gmail does not have customer service for account recovery.

There is also an option for a recovery email address. If you set that up, you can get them to send a password change link to that address.

shareNot sure if this will work, but it's worth a shot. Sign up for a new email. Since you're still logged into your current email, add that new email as your recovery email. Then go to "forgot password" and see if it gives you the option to restart it from your new email.
