Jon Gruden

If Michael Vick can return after dogfighting than I see no reason Gruden cannot come back from this. It’s a big nothingburger is what it is. Before you know it Gruden will be back in the NFL and no one will even remember what happened.

reply

No, he's done - at least with the NFL.

And what world do you live in? Seriously, this won't go away.

reply

Wasn’t that email ten years ago

reply

yeah and Howard Cosell got beat up for a remark 40 years ago.

reply

Ill have to google that

reply

look at that little monkey go

reply

Apparently there have been numerous e-mails that have surfaced - not just one.

reply

He’s taking his money and going home

reply

Urban danced with a woman at a bar and he’s in so much shit

reply

No, it's because he didn't go back to Florida with his team.

reply

Really

reply

Yes - that is what started all of the problems and then the video popped up.

And he should have made the trip back with his team - they were pissed.

reply

You can’t dance with a woman at a bar

reply

Nobody's business except the woman involved and his wife. Apparently the woman at the bar wasn't upset, but his wife probably has a problem with it.

reply

Just friends

reply

I wonder if that cheerleader can get some of Gruden's $100 million fortune

reply

The $100 million was a 10 year contract , so he has only been paid a portion of that. His current net worth is around $30 million.

reply

Daniel Snyder will give him a job.

reply

The investigation of Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder and his administration is how the emails were found. The emails were to former Washington GM Bruce Allen, who used to have that job when he and Gruden were both with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Jon Gruden's brother, Jay, was head coach of Washington for several years.

Bruce Allen was a horrible GM and those emails will likely stop him from ever working in the NFL again.

reply

I don't pay much attn to football anymore but I did hear about Gruden. What did he say that was so bad? Was it the N word?

reply

Not that I'm aware. He used several stereotypes for blacks and gays and did some complaining about women. These were all private e-mails and sent from his own computer. It's just a little suspicious to me that out of all the messages,(like 650), reviewed, his were the only ones that had anything controversial. This was 10 years or so ago and at that time nobody was concerned about this type of thing - how much do you want to bet other people made similar remarks and for some reason it's being covered up?

https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/jon-gruden-emails-resigns-raiders-coach/1f7nbdnxccjat1momv1xkg9bpp

"Gruden used racist, sexist, homophobic and transophobic language in the emails, which the Times reports dated from 2010 through 2018, before Gruden was hired by the Raiders for his second stint with the team"

"[Gruden] often called NFL commissioner Roger Goodell a “f—t” and a “clueless anti football p—y.” He also used homophobic slurs to describe NFL owners, coaches and reporters who cover the league.

I was unaware that when one man calls another man a "pussy" that is misogynistic.

It sounds like he referred to Michael Sam as a "queer"

I didn't see anything with an N-bomb, but does it matter if he drops the "big lips" line?

My favorite:

[Gruden] also asked [Bruce Allen] to tell Bryan Glazer, whose family owns the Buccaneers, to perform oral sex on him. Allen reportedly responded that Glazer would “take you up on that offer.”

Come on now! That wasn't what he said!

{Gruden asked Bruce to tell Bryan to s**k "his d**k.}

We're all adults, don't sugarcoat it.

reply

No, he will never coach again nor will anyone bring him back for broadcasting. About all he can do is start his own podcast.

reply

Agree, not for the NFL, but I do think after a year or two, he will pop up somewhere, just like Tom Brennaman.

reply

Brennaman is doing games in Puerto Rico in a league no one cares about. I don't think he has made it back yet.

Somebody wrote on twitter

"I hope Jon Gruden has learned a valuable lesson. If you want to have a job in the NFL, stick to beating your wife, raping massage therapists, and assaulting pregnant women."

And running dog fights!

😎

reply

Yes, I forgot about that one.

😎👍

reply

These were private emails, too.
