I love the Beach Boys and Van Halen. I also like some things from Kiss, the Talking Heads, and Motley Crue. Just thought I'd put it a good word for them after you hated on them. :)
Mots modern pop music I can't stand. I do like Bruno Mars, but then he's got more of an old school approach. He sings, no autotune, sounds like he's being backed by human beings playing actual instruments instead of some computer playing a programmed beat.
I like Bruno Mars for the same reasons you listed. I remember when he was on the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show and I was impressed to see him actually playing real instruments. And no auto-tune garbage.
Auto-tune should be banned. If any "artist" has to rely on this crutch to cover up lack of talent, they shouldn't be in the industry to begin with.
Don't ever talk to me again😤
shareOh, God. How many bands on my list do you like?
shareI like The Grateful Dead and The Beach Boys well enough but I suggest a duel at dawn over the rest of them you scoundrel!
shareIf we got into a duel, we'll have fun, fun, fun until my dad takes the T-bird away.
shareOh, I can't stay mad at you (even if you have no taste in music😬)
shareIf I got no taste in music, then explain why I think this is the greatest song of all time? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X53ZSxkQ3Ho
shareWell, it's a good video, I'll give you that
shareAny band that was soft rock / "yacht rock" that was/is popular from the 1970s on. The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac typifying the sound. I'll concede though that many people really do like vanilla sandwiches on white bread, washed down by watery "light" beer.
Hate the rap/rock bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Korn, Limp Bizkit and the like.
I also agree. I can't stand wimpy pop ballads.
Or disco.
Agree on:
Grateful Dead
U2
Pearl Jam
Nirvana
Add:
Bruce Springsteen
Credence Clearwater Revival
Emenim
Beyonce
Black eyed Peas
Pit Bull
America (or maybe its just that one song, i dunno)
Faster Pussycat (+ 100 other no name hair bands)
REM
The Doors
Bad Religion
Spice Girls
I agree on all except Creedence. They're one of the few American bands I really like. I'm a marginal fan of The Doors but I completely understand the hate.
shareBad Religion? Big Name Band? LOL
I used to love going to punk concerts in the 1980's.
Husker Du, The Minutemen - now those bands sucked.
I said Rush in the songs you don't want to hear as you die. Honestly though, even with all the ones you've mentioned I still like a few of their songs. There are a lot of bands that I wouldn't miss if they never made music again, but I'm not a hater.
I can even admit that I actually like two Creed songs. Dislike the band, but 2 songs I can listen to so I can't really hate them can I? Even ICP, who really irritate me because my ex husband loved them, has a song that I can listen to all the way through.
I guess I just need to be meaner. Haha
I agree on Creed. Two songs by them are good. It was a case of the public opinion kettle boiling over and having to crucify something mega-famous for no other reason than jackpot overdue. Creed was huge and loved ... then butchered on the altar all within about a year.
You remind me that there are maybe 2 newer songs by U2 that I like. I guess I have to give them a pass. Shit, CCR has one too. I'll take the demerits instead of editing.
There's gotta be something. Bieber? Katy Perry? Ariane Grande? Beyonce? Any rap artist?
shareI don't like the guy Bieber, but some of his recent stuff, especially the duets aren't half bad in comparison to the rest of pop. The may be rap artists, screech metal, or some punk that I would hate that I've never heard, but they wouldn't be big names.
I guess I just don't really hate a lot of things. Except wasps. I hate wasps.
