Covid vaccine logic for beginners

The UK is a good example to go off, Due to the high amount of people vaccinated there. 85 millon doses of the vaccine have been given out, 93.6% of the population have received at least one dose. they have had 15 months of various degrees of lockdown. masks have been mandatory, 2 meters safespace in public places, a great number of people working from home. and a whole bunch of other things to stop covid.

However on july 29th 2020, the UK registered 8619 new cases and 57 deaths

Today, july 29th 2021, after all this, the UK has registered 31,117 new cases and 85 new deaths.

While i didn't expect covid to have desappeared, why are there more cases? if you had a headache and you started to take some pills, and the headache got worse, would you believe they are helping you?

so let's see!

Theres a prize for the best goal post mover.

hm, why is the death count later a year into a pandemic as opposed to at the earlier stages.....

you have two, at least, competing trends

1. a much greater penetration of the virus into the population
2. the dampening effect of the vaccine

what i would challenge you to do is compare the death rate in the UK in, say, January as opposed to now. that would give a better measure of the effect of the vaccine in a far more infected population than last july. closer, at least, to apples to apples than a year ago.

wow, i looked it up - on jan 13 of this year, there were 1,564 deaths. as opposed to 85 now.

also to be considered, the immune suppression among the very aged, for which vaccines offer less protection.

maybe those headache pills are working, after all - but thanks for your disinformation service, clownie.

they told us that young people would be dying because the older people got the vaccine first, now it's not true, it's the older people dying.

how have you got time to reply when you're constantly moving these goal posts?!
