Completely agree. I love the simplicity of this site. Emojis are as advanced as it gets! Being able to post pictures all over the place would ruin it for me.

I was thinking of stuff like posting video clips of trailers, scenes, etc. Or anything(you know what I mean). I know you can technically paste a link but it's better to watch on the site so you don't have to click out of the forum. Pictures...gifs...avatars. it's easier to remember certain people by avatars than by names.

Everyone has a preference but these suggestions would improve the function of the website a bit and make it more active in my opinion. Shrugs.

i like it just the way it is. you can link to all those things. it keeps the threads nice & condensed, focused upon the textual content rather than cartoon wars.

it means you have to scroll past memes, gifs, jpgs to find what is being said.

isn't that pretty obvious ? a link, imo, suffices. anyone interested can click/expand to their heart's content.

we don't have to litter our convo with images to make our points - again, the links can serve our purpose.

this is a question of taste. i prefer the low clutter. you may prefer the flash-bang. i don't fault you.

Ok, imagine this is a bar with lots of long time regulars and it plays the music we like to listen to and it serves the beer we like to drink. All of a sudden, someone comes in for the first time and, before they’ve even ordered a beer, starts criticising the place and saying how much better it would be if it was just the way they wanted it.

I agree with those who say that we don't need them. There are other boards which have them, and I don't think that they contribute to intelligent, thoughtful conversation. We honestly have enough trolls here without having to contend with gif or video spamming on posts.
