What an accent

if these homo-sapians were in fact homo-sapians, is that why they're extinct?

reply

we don't know. the dating is still iffy, but living in ice-age eurasia was a pretty tough lifestyle. smaller populations would have always been at risk of mass starvation/plague.

There is speculation amongst some anthropologists that Homo Longi may be a Denisovan. Australian Aborigines are said to have 4 to 6% Denisovan DNA:

if they ever are able to extract some dna, we'll know. there must be something in the morphology of the skull which indicates to many derivation distinct from neanderthal, while denisovans are more closely relaated to neanderthal.

these finds all tend to make the human ancestry narrative more and more complicated.

Everyone needs to realize that all things decay. Even rocks. The Egyptians built massive pyramids and embalmed mummies inside of them knowing this hoping to immortalize or "time capsule" their culture. The rare fossils we do find are just freak occurrences that happened when the conditions were just right. There have probably been so many species on Earth that we never knew about that it is totally mindboggling. The fossil record probably paints less than 1% of reality. The most exciting superpower I wish I could have would be the ability to go back in time.
