Why does Hollywood do stuff like this?

Demi Lovato's 19-year-old sister is directing a film starring a bunch of tiktok stars that takes place at a Zoom party. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

I presume the budget consists of some pocket change? If so, making a profit won't be hard, even if it just ends up on youtube with some ads.

The cast is made up of five trained actors who’ve reached global success on TikTok: Laurel Toupal, Zach Cowan, Inka Magnaye from the Philippines, Jason van Tonder of South Africa, and Paige Evans from Canada. Together, they have a combined following of over 8.3 million on TikTok.
