Should i stop hanging around with this person?

I chat to a couple of people at work,this one guy is weird because one day he's very chatty, laughing and today just very quiet and moody,it's a strange atmosphere because we're all just sitting here in silence,lol. I ask if he's ok but just says he's fine,what would you do?
