Mainstream films

Do you think any studios will get their balls back and make something relatively original again? Or are we stuck in this loop of remakes and superheroes for another decade? πŸ˜”

The last film I saw that I found exhilarating to watch was Hotel Mumbai, about 2 or 3 years ago.

Films just don't get me excited for their release like they used to.

I really love the superhero movies and the remakes I can simply take or leave...some are crap but a few are pretty solid (I though Rob Zombie's Halloween remake was an interesting take and showed us a different angle on Michael...not perfect but damn good)

Some pretty good indie /low budget stuff always seems to 'bleed' through though I mostly just watch horror, crime, war movies and sometimes cowboys

DID YOU WATCH "NOBODY"?

Yes
It was really good fun, like 'What if John Wick was a pretty average looking neighborhood dad?' type of funπŸ‘πŸ‘

No, mainstream filmmaking is dead as an art form. Sort of like rock music. But it had a good run while it lasted, I’d say a good 100 years.

reply

i do tend toward the older stuff in both movies and rock music.
