Guess the Title (through clues in images); a spin-off game

This is a spin-off game inspired by samoanjoe's Guess the Actor/Actress challenge. It can be the title of a movie, TV series, book, play, song, album, etc. Please name the category; some titles may belong in multiple categories so you can use more than one. Use images to provide the clues.

Let's start with a simple one:

Category: novel; movie

Cass...???

reply

Correct...I admit not everybody is going to recognize the second one, another music figure.

reply

who the hell is this guy...give a minor clue.

reply

He wouldn't agree but I think he may be even more influential than Phil Spector.

I think I picked someone too unrecognizable. It's Brian Eno.

Cass (Elliot) + (Brian) Eno = Casino

I don't know the first image, but from the next two I'll say The Fountainhead

reply

Got it!

The first is a rapper who calls herself Megan Thee Stallion ... my Lord, what a stupid name! ... so I used her for "the."

Incidentally, I'm two degrees away from the late Patricia Neal. She's also from Kentucky. We never met but know some people in common.

A movie from the early 1970s.

EDIT: The thread seems to be dead, so I'll put the answer under a spoiler cover.

The pictures are (1) John Wayne; (2) Nathan Lane; (3) a group of people, none of whom are dead; (4) Ton Thie, a European athlete I had never heard of until I Googled "ton" for an image; (5) the sea; (6) a gull.

So -- John, Nathan, living, Ton, sea, gull -- Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

Yeah, I know, #3 is a bad clue, but I figured "Jonathan" and "Seagull" were so easy it's forgivable.

reply

I'm going to make this one a bit harder. The pictures might or might not be in the right order.

The clues are in reverse order. From last to first they are (1) a diploma, a symbol of knowledge; (2) the flag of Canada, a country; and (3) four old men.

So -- know, country, four old men -- No Country For Old Men.

reply

I love the idea of both these threads but its difficult when we can't post pictures here.
