Is it in bad taste to celebrate beating covid? While thousands have died?

In one month I hit my 1 year anniversary of getting covid. Besides some pain in the balls of my feet from time to time, I’ve got this virus beat.

But is it in bad taste to celebrate?

reply

Interesting question. People beat cancer and have celebrations.

But celebrations means parties, and people can get Covid19 from them.

If you keep is a small one your ok. A over the top house party would to viral more ways then one.

reply

No. Party on.

Why not? I'm getting my 2nd shot on the 24th and sometime after the middle of March, I plan to have a celebration.

reply

It’d only be in bad taste if you were to celebrate that people died from COVID.

But celebrating that you pulled through and can go on living life sounds perfectly reasonable
