I can’t imagine the visual effects in Ghost ever looked good

They are horrible even by 1990 standards.

Whoopi Goldberg won a best supporting Oscar for this crap instead of Lorraine Bracco for Goodfellas!

And you care about the the visual effects? 🤷‍♂️

You have it wrong. Bracco did win. The presenter was so happy that Bracco won, that they shouted "Whoopi!" in excitement and Whoopi approached the stage. The Academy felt bad and let her have it.

The original Karen lol. Personally I don’t think either of their performances were particularly remarkable, but yeah Bracco was better. The visual effects look like they were done on an Atari.

Yeah but whoopie Goldberg made this film. Even with better special effects it would have been crap without her 👍
