As soon as the news was announced all the London train stations were packed with people trying to get out before midnight. So all these folk are just infecting the rest of the nation too.

We will be in full lockdown again by mid January 😒

I don't think it is as easy or as simple as someone pressing a button that instantly bans and locks down everything in the blink of an eye.
There is a little more to it than that; like certain protocols and procedures that can take hours or longer.
