Is Raging Bull Scorsese’s masterpiece?
I enjoy his crime films more but I think this is his magnum opus. The theme music alone is beautiful.

shareHello
shareNo. I don't think he's done a masterpiece. But I only call a handful of movies masterpieces. I think his best film is Goodfellas.
shareThat’s my favorite too. What’s a masterpiece in your eyes?
shareCORKY ROMANO.
shareThe Shawshank Redemption and American Beauty. There's a few others.
shareWhy does this not surprise me lol
shareTo be fair, it’s about as surprising as you starting ANOTHER bloody thread about your homeboy Marty.
That was really unexpected.
American Beauty and Shawshank are two of the most cliche “greatest movies ever made” and overrated movies of all time. Still good but they’ve been way overhyped.
shareAgain, same could be said for a lot of Scorsese’s movies. You’re not exactly being bold and unique by praising him at every given opportunity. It’s what I’d expect from your garden variety film student.
shareThe difference being that his films are far superior to those
shareMatter of opinion, mate. Some may be, certainly, but I wouldn't call After Hours, The Color of Money, Gangs of New York, Shutter Island or (especially) The Irishman anywhere near as well made or entertaining as either of joes' favourites. Far inferior, to me.

Whatever. Scorsese’s overrated 💁♂️
shareMasterpieces are overrated. They're just movies ffs. A play pretend. People act like it's the second coming of Jesus smh.
shareDon't you dare say anything about this man:https://www.indiewire.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/jesus-e1520364200579.png?w=780

Goodfellas for me, it's a much more rewatchable and enjoyable film, I’d place Raging Bull among his Top 3 with Taxi Driver being there too.
