How are so many people absolutely terrible at comprehending basic things?

It’s like they don’t even try to understand. Most of the time when I try to explain something, I end up having to go back over it several times before they grasp what I’m saying.

I am a pretty articulate guy and have no trouble communicating in the simplest terms I can, but it just seems like no matter how succinctly I put something people still demonstrate with their response that they just did not get it. Are people just not very intelligent?

The problem is not the lack of intelligence. The problem is the lack of "common sense".
I have known some highly intelligent people but lack "common sense", and to me there is no substitute for that.

I will take common sense any day over "intelligence" that lacks common sense. 🤔

Your problem, as I see it, is that you always think your opinion is correct. And rather than explain your position when challenged, you refer to the person as a moron or an idiot and tell them to shut the fuck up.

That you can’t see this suggests that YOUR comprehension skills may not be as finely tuned as you think.

You mean how many people can't comprehend what constitutes music? And therefore how can anyone consider Aerosmith a band when all they produce is garbage. Listening to someone say their material is music, is like listening to someone say raw sewage is acceptable for human consumption.
