Finding a movie with only a little of the description

Hi, I am new to the site. I was hoping to find a thread where I could ask about a movie I have been trying to find. I used "What's my movie" but it failed to deliver or the movie was so buried in off-top movie titles that I gave up trying... In this movie I only remember one scene... The protagonist (I think may be Jackie Chan) is trying to catch up with some boys that are doing parkour. I think one of the boys may be the nephew of the protagonist. They are jumping from window sill to window sill, balcony to balcony, roof to roof. I cannot remember why they are running away. They could be trying to catch someone whom did a crime or they might be trying to do a crime themselves... Sorry, Ik this is not much to go on and any help will be greatly appreciated.

It's probably Jet Li and the movie was Cradle 2 The Grave (2003).

reply

I just watched the trailer of "Cradle 2 The Grave" and sorry to say that wasn't the movie, but thank you.

Have you tried any of the following three films with Jackie Chan starring? All three contain parkour and rooftop scenes:-

The Forbidden Kingdom (2008) - has teenage character
New Police Story (2004) - has teenage characters
Who Am I? (1998) - has rooftop fight

reply

I watched Forbidden Kingdom not long ago and I just watched New Police Story. The fight scene, in the trailer that I watched, did not look familiar. I am pretty certain that the guy didn't have amnesia, so that rules out Who Am I. Thank you very much for trying to help.

Your description fits Yamakasi (except for Jackie Chan).
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0267129/

Châu Belle Dinh plays the protagonist.

reply

I had checked out the trailer, of Yamakasi, before posting here, and it is closest to anything I've seen so far. However, in Yamakasi, the guys that do the parkour look several years older than the ones that I'm thinking of. Thank you for helping.

Try the 'I need to know' page underneath Politics. There are some very knowledgeable folk in there!

I was thinking on it and I am wanting to think the movie was pre-2000's.

Not sure if that link will help it is a collection Jackie Chan parkour scenes.

Might also be Rumble in the Bronx? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGkUwf2kiKo

reply

Thank you for the links. I didn't see the scene that I recall, however, I'm going to check out the Robin-B-Hood movie. In the scene, from R-B-H, where Jackie slides down the banister and there's a guy, in white tee, that seems like one of the teens from the movie I'm looking for.

It would be a lot easier to find someone, from a movie cast, if they showed a pic of what the actor looked like, when they starred in a movie, instead of what they look like now.

reply

Yeah I hate that about IMDB it makes it hard to find people from older films. Especially if they aren't all that well known.

reply

There's a french movie called District 13 with lots of parkour scenes. The scenes look a lot like a Jackie Chan movie.

Thanks for the link. I've been wanting to watch that movie.

I know what you mean.
A long time ago I tuned into a Kung-Fu movie on TV, and I think, not sure, that it was Bruce Li and Jackie Chan in the same movie. Can that be? But the scene I thought was so great and hilarious, were these two guy fighting inside their girlfriend's house, and trying not to break anything while they fought all over the house. It was one of the funniest things I ever saw in a Kung Fu movie, but I have no idea what it was or really who was in it. Pretty sure it was Bruce Li, but ????

reply

I read that Jackie did stunts for Bruce in some of his movies. I wish I knew the name of that one. What you described seems very familiar.

That was about "Enter The Dragon"... Maybe that's the one you saw.
