I admit, their dedication to continually do new accounts is intense. There just seems to be no point. Is the troll angry with us posters for something? If so no idea what? Are they trying to make it so no one posts here because they are flooding it with crap? If so, poorly done.

Yep. VPN = Virtual Private Network. They can be used for a lot of different things and are good to have for security. In this context it's nothing more than using the VPN's server as a proxy, so MC would see all user's traffic as coming from the VPN's server and not from the user.
Yeah, I remember that account who claimed that. I hope whoever is doing it this time doesn't have a VPN. This crap is annoying.
