The NY Times lists the 25 best actors of the last 20 years. (And it's pretty bad)

They put in Melissa McCarthy and Keanu Reeves like we wouldn't notice.

reply

Oh gees, I don't want to even look.

reply

And Keanu is at #4.

reply

Joaquin phoenix would make my list as well. The rest of the actors are pretty mediocre.

reply

He's one of the few on there that I think should. But they're missing a hell of a lot of people.

reply

And they didn't even include Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The list is just pop-corn movie actors and a huge pile of politically correct diverse quota. Joaquin Phoenix is the only choice that really deserves to be in a top actors list, and perhaps Isabelle Huppert or William Dafoe. And Denzel Washington could have been in this list 20 years ago, not now.

reply

Denzel was phenomenal in Fences.

reply

dafoe belongs there

reply

And Sam Rockwell nowhere in sight? I declare shenanigans!!

reply

I'm also shocked there's no Kate Winslet, Amy Adams or Cate Blanchett.

reply

OK peoples shenanigans has been called

reply

It's diverse. That's all that matters.

reply

Definitely. Diversity > quality. That's why I'm thinking of dating a black lesbian. Sure she could be a bitch or ugly or smells. But diversity is what counts.

reply

I don't think a lesbian would want to date you... except if you identify as a woman.

reply

I can turn her.

reply

You have the technology ?

reply

Have it? I designed it.

reply

It will be worth it !

Where the hell is Aubrey Plaza?

reply

Not on the list which is a correct decision.

reply

Why, just cause she's a woman! Typical!

reply

That's exactly it. And I don't trust plazas.

reply

Placido Domingo?

reply

All plazas and anything similar. Don't get me started with Lake Placid, both the location and the movie.

reply

I never saw either!

reply

Aubreyville ?

reply

I'm going to go straight down to the train station and get my ticket today! Thank you, strange sir!

reply

It was the least I could do.

reply

Incomplete list without Art Evans and Donald Gibb.

reply

They were ineligible. They didn't want to go straight for the top.

reply

I told ya'll the best shit is before 1980

reply

Yes. And the 70s were the best for movies and music.

reply

I agree. Some great music from the 60s (first half = great jazz, second half = great variety)

Lots of great movies from the 1930-50s, too.... I might have been born in the 80s, but man, it's just so lacking in talent and spirit. And it only got worse! I kept waiting for some kind of renaissance, partly due to the internet being new, but I realized I wasted a lot of hours watching bad movies when I could have checked out something from a time period of greater success.

reply

I was born in the early 80s and have both the movies and music. I find it to be the most dated decade.

reply

Joke list.

reply

There's maybe 5 I agree with.
