What permanent changes will result in the world post-COVID-19?
It seems this will have a lasting impact far greater than 9/11.

Man I hope you're wrong. But in saying that, do you think, concerts and gigs will be a thing of the past?

I think live anything will be bigger than ever when this is over - pent up demand. I sure hope movie theaters make it - I don't care how good a home theater is, that's not the same thing as going to a movie and eating junk food - at least not to me.
shareoh well
sharePubs will reopen. They have been around longer than any society on earth. They'll just be dormant for a bit. Your favorite(s) might be gone, but sooner or later, new ones will emerge.
Movie theaters might be done though. But then again, they've been saying that since cable tv and VHS were invented.
I think more people will continue wearing masks in public, like many do in Asia - especially during flu season.
shareHopefully some real funding to combat pandemics like stockpiling of medicines and equipment. We seemed to have learned nothing from the 1918 and 1968 flu pandemics.
I think remote work and telecommunications will vastly increase. I'm not sure if big time real estate will recover. Why do you need a skyscraper? IT security which is massively vulnerable will need a huge influx of workers. Maybe more people wearing masks when ill like in Asia and more people having to stay home when sick even from the common cold. Could also see an increase in preppers or people stockpiling non-perishables.
I think cinemas and live events will return by 2022. This isn't the worst pandemic the world has ever seen and it won't be the last.
a cashless society.
shareI think things like not washing your hands more often than before (especially before eating) will be looked down upon the same way as if you tell someone you don't brush your teeth regularly. People will think you are unkempt.
shareLess people will want to work and live in big cities. In my state of Australia we have already seen people move to regional areas.
Working from home will become more common. Businesses will work out it is cheaper to have staff WFH than to pay big money on real estate.
People will no longer try to be a hero and attend work when not feeling well and employers will just accept that and even prefer it.
Governments will have to have some kind of policy in place for dealing with future pandemics.
People will ensure they have some basic food and supplies stocked for future events as we all saw the panic buying and shelves stripped of just about everything.
