Sponge on the Run Review.

Sponge on the Run does not see SpongeBob (Tom Kenny) go on the run from the FBI after being framed for murder. When beloved pet snail Garry is snailnapped SpongeBob and Patrick (Bill Fagerbakke) embark on a rescue mission. If you’re a diehard fan of the show things start innocently enough. We get all the classic escapades. Plankton (Mr. Lawrence) battles Mr. Krabs (Clancy Brown) for the Krabby Patty secret recipe, Sandy (Carolyn Lawrence) is inventing robots, Squidward (Rodger Bumpass) hates hid life, and SpongeBob and Patrick are as irritating as ever before. It becomes apparent quickly that this should never have been anything more than an episode. To call it a movie is an insult to the genre. A movie shouldn’t blatantly rip off its own TV show, an early episode of the show Have You Seen This Snail already dealt with Gary going missing perfectly. A movie shouldn’t rely on celebrity cameos instead of creating interesting side characters. A movie above all else shouldn’t go against the creator's wishes after he died.
