Which singer do you like to see in a movie

I actually enjoy some singer-cum-actor movies, like Whitney Houston, Ice Cube, RZA, Eminem, Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga. Even Die Antwoord. Who else do you want to see in a movie?

reply

Justin Beiber in a hard gritty prison drama & Sam Smith in a hard gritty macho action adventure. 😐

reply

Honestly, I would like to see Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit in a Nic Cage movie. It'd be fun!

reply

I enjoyed most of David Bowie’s movie appearances. Dolly Parton too, even if she only ever plays variations of herself.

Tom Waits, Nick Cave and Courtney Love all have impressive performances to their name.

There’s also Cher. Possibly a better actor than musician.

I don’t know if there’s any singer I’m hanging out to see in a film right now though.

reply

Love Dolly in 9 to 5

Bob Dylan would have been interesting along with Jimi Hendrix.

reply

Bob Dylan was in Pat Garret and Billy the Kid.

Cool

But Daisy Ridley is already an actor.

reply

She is a singer and I like to see her in a movie.

reply

Star Wars.

reply

She played Mary Sue?

Reylene O'Palpatine SFC (Scavenger First Class)

Eddie Vedder. It wouldn't get Eddie Vedder than that.

reply

Oh you!

Some singers/musicians whose film performances I've enjoyed - Kylie Minogue, David Bowie, Barbara Streisand, Phil Collins, Madonna, Gavin Rossdale, Cher, Henry Rollins, and Xzibit.

I'd like to see Sting in a movie that makes better use of his talents. I can't quite put my finger on it, but despite his appeal as a musician I haven't seen him in a role that fits.

reply

Bono. I remember he had a brief role in that Beatles movie (Across the Universe?) and he did a good job.

reply

Bono should have been in Postcards from the Edge. 😛

reply

None really. Every actor wants to be a singer and every singer wants to be an actor. For the most part, they are rotten. But I will give credit to Streisand, Mos Def, Queen Latifah, Cher, Common, and Ice Cube. They did acceptable jobs unlike pretty much all the rest.

OK, actually I am always happy to see Dwight Yoakam. I don't like his music but he is a great actor.

reply

Oh yeah, I forgot Mos Def. He's pretty good.

For me Justin Timberlake is better at acting than singing. He just couldn't get his breakthrough film.
