Are Monty Python fans college-educated and SNL fans D-students?

I've never watched SNL but Monty Python although Cambridge and Oxford educated did an awful lot of low brow humour as well as the more cerebral kind.

Well Mr Gumby was the essence of stupid and low brow but he was still funny. Whatever level they were playing at the Pythons knew how to carry off a gag. Although it wasn't all gravy. I remember an early scene they did in a restaurant on their TV show and it was woeful.
