Drive (2011) is a masterpiece

One of the best movies of the 2010s and a perfect example of a major release that broke the mold. Some of the best direction I’ve seen from a newer filmmaker and Gosling is outstanding, as is Albert Brooks (but that’s expected.)

reply

I thought it was excellent too, very stylish and lots of thrills

Albert Brooks was a great nasty bastard!

reply

He is the best! Mostly because somehow you still love him. I have a feeling he would be a blast to get drunk with.

reply

It was a hell of a gangster performance coming from an actor who usually plays sensitive, funny or average guys...
Great acting

reply

Yeah he has that NY grit

reply

Pines is terrific, a great, huge cast, excellent performances, engrossing story...I should watch this again soon

reply

The Place Beyond the Pines is so underrated. Another great movie.

i watched this recently for the first time. 7.5/10

Agreed. Can't believe I went all these years without watching it. Thanks to Netflix I finally checked it out. It immediately went on my all time favorite movies list. A true hypnotic masterpiece.
