You are a film professor...
Which movie (and why) do you screen for your class?
shareRope (1948) because my film prof made us go through this one and I still have the notes. Easy days work right there.
shareThe French Connection to show how a great action/thriller is done.
shareThe Freshman with Matthew Broderick and Marlon Brando. Many scenes take place in a film studies class with a pompous fool professor. It would be an example of everything wrong with so many film critics, and what to avoid in film study.
shareWow that's a tough one.
I'd have to choose The Shining, because there's just so much to discuss, things to interpret, and theories to bounce around.
the thing 1982
sharePeter Jackson’s Bad Taste. I think it really shows what you can accomplish with very little resources and a whole lot of passion and ingenuity.
share
2001: A Space Odyssey, of course, since it's the greatest film ever made. It's a transcendental film which changed forever the way movies are made.
😎
Hot Shots Part Deux.
It's a pretentious classic.
